Hear from our Chief Innovation & Research Officer—and the lead behind PRR’s human services, human trafficking, and impact initiatives—as he shares his powerful journey. From experiences with incarceration, substance abuse, institutional systems, child abuse, and domestic violence to celebrating nine years of sobriety, his story is the foundation of the impact-driven work we take on at PRR. Over the past decade, he has dedicated his efforts to transforming lived experience into research-informed, technology-driven solutions that help organizations deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve. His work focuses on bridging real-world insight with evidence-based innovation—ensuring technology not only captures data, but also drives understanding, compassion, and meaningful change.

From Lived Experience to Leading AI Innovation: My Journey to PRR

From Navigating Systems to Rebuilding Them

My path into technology didn’t start in tech. It started in systems.

Not as a designer of them—but as someone navigating them, trying to make sense of processes that were often fragmented, disconnected, and difficult to move through.

I’ve seen what happens when systems don’t communicate. When people are reduced to data points—but the data doesn’t actually help them. When organizations are doing everything they can, but the infrastructure behind them holds them back.

I’ve lived the gaps. And that perspective has shaped everything I build today.

Learning Systems from the Inside

Before AI, before platforms, before PRR—I was learning how systems really operate.

I saw:

  • People repeating their stories because systems weren’t connected
  • Frontline teams buried in documentation instead of focused on impact
  • Missed opportunities due to delayed or inaccessible information
  • Organizations doing incredible work but lacking scalable infrastructure

This understanding didn’t come from theory—it came from experience. And once you see systems at that level, you start to understand exactly where they break—and where they can be rebuilt.

The Shift: From Experience to Execution

At some point, the question became:

What would it look like if these systems actually worked the way they’re supposed to?

That question led to PRR.

I didn’t come from a traditional tech pipeline. I came from lived experience, community work, and being close enough to the problem to understand it deeply.

And that became the advantage.

Because instead of building based on assumptions, I build based on reality.

Building PRR: AI Driven by Real-World Insight

Today, I help lead PRR as an AI solutions and modernization company serving organizations across enterprise, public sector, and community-based environments.

At PRR, we build:

  • AI-powered data and case management platforms
  • Integrated systems that eliminate fragmentation
  • Automation tools that streamline operations
  • Intelligent reporting and predictive insights
  • Scalable infrastructure for growing organizations

While PRR operates across industries, I lead our most impact-driven work—serving as the head of our human services, human trafficking, and impact initiatives.

These are environments where:

  • The margin for error is small
  • The consequences of inefficiency are real
  • And the need for better systems is urgent

This is where my background provides a unique lens—and where I focus much of my energy.

Clarity Case Management: A configurable, closed-loop case management platform designed to strengthen cross-agency responses across human trafficking, crisis response, addiction recovery, and victim services.

Why Lived Experience Still Matters in AI

AI is evolving fast. But without context, it can miss what matters most.

Lived experience brings:

  • A real understanding of how systems break down
  • Insight into what users actually need
  • The ability to design for trust—not just functionality
  • A focus on outcomes—not just outputs

For me, this isn’t just innovation—it’s responsibility.

Because in high-impact environments, technology has to work—not just technically, but practically.

Leading Modernization with Purpose

At PRR, my focus is helping organizations modernize in ways that actually improve how they operate.

That means:

  • Reducing friction for frontline teams
  • Turning data into actionable intelligence
  • Aligning systems so they work together—not in silos
  • Scaling impact without losing the human element

Whether working with enterprise clients or community-based organizations, the goal is the same:

Build systems that make things work better—for the people using them and the communities they serve.

Full Circle

There’s something powerful about going from navigating systems to helping redesign them.

From experiencing the gaps… to building solutions that close them.

PRR reflects that full-circle journey:

  • Serving across industries
  • Building at scale
  • Using AI to modernize how organizations operate

And for me personally, staying grounded in the spaces where the need is greatest—ensuring that as we grow, we never lose sight of why this work matters in the first place.
